DIAGNOdent Classic
Here's how to use KaVo DIAGNOdent
1. Clean tooth surfaces preferrably with an air polishing device (e.g. PROPHYflex) to completely remove plaque, stains and calculus from fissure areas.
2. Dry the tooth.
3. Perform clinical examination (scanning of tooth surface).
4. Diagnose and evaluate quantitative measurement of DIAGNOdent (possible course of action):
Chart readings and monitor over time.
Initiate prophylactic treatment (fluoridation, etc.) and monitor success/results.
Restore and check for residual caries.
Comparison Conventional - DIAGNOdent

With conventional instruments, it is generally not possible to probe drop-shaped fissures.
DIAGNOdent has the great advantage of detecting caries in the very early stage by measuring the laser fluroescence within the tooth structure.
Precise results without x-ray exposure.
