How to use the KaVo DIAGNOdent pen
1. Clean tooth surfaces preferrably with an air polishing device (e.g.
PROPHYflex) to completely remove plaque, stains and calculus from fissure areas.
2. Dry the tooth.
3. Perform clinical examination (scanning of tooth surface.)
4. Diagnose and evaluate quantitative measurement of DIAGNOdent pen
Possible courses of action:
- Chart readings and monitor over time.
- Initiate prophylactic treatment (fluoridation, etc.) and monitor success.
- Restore and check for residual caries.
